As part of our commitment to promoting safe, inclusive, and resilient communities, SWIDA Ghana successfully organized a Training on Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV), SGBV Referral Systems, and Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Service Delivery for frontline responders under the EMPOWERHER Project.
The training brought together health professionals and frontline service providers operating within Safe Spaces across selected health facilities and schools to enhance their knowledge and practical skills in providing quality, survivor-centred, trauma-informed, and confidential support to survivors of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence.
Participants deepened their understanding of:
Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV)
Survivor-centred approaches to service delivery
Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS)
SGBV referral pathways and coordinated response mechanisms
Ethical principles, confidentiality, and safeguarding in case management
By strengthening the capacities of frontline responders, SWIDA Ghana is contributing to improved access to quality psychosocial support services and protection for women, girls, and other vulnerable groups within our communities.
This training forms part of the EMPOWERHER Project: Advancing Institutional Strength, Leadership, Protection, and Inclusion for Sustainable Impact, implemented under the Renewed Women’s Voice and Leadership (RWVL) Project, with funding from Global Affairs Canada in partnership with Plan International Ghana.
