As the Convenor of the SDG Tamale Platform, SWIDA Ghana, in collaboration with the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly and with financial support from the Ghana SDG Secretariat, successfully organized a Town Hall Meeting that brought together over 90 participants, including citizens, traditional authorities, civil society organisations, women, youth, persons with disabilities, and government institutions.
The meeting provided a platform for key departments to present updates on service delivery and enabled citizens to engage directly with duty bearers on priority development issues.
Participants called for regular Town Hall Meetings, greater transparency and accountability, timely implementation of community priorities, and stronger inclusion of women, youth, and persons with disabilities in local governance.
Together, we are advancing the Sustainable Development Goals by promoting accountable, inclusive, and participatory local governance where every voice matters.
