Empowering Young Women Through Skills and Enterprise – SWIDA Ghana

SWIDA Ghana, in partnership with Fauzy Events and Partners, successfully trained about 20 young women in the production of gift boxes, including square, rectangular, pillow, and explosive boxes.

Speaking during the training, the Executive Director of SWIDA Ghana emphasized that skills development must go beyond training—it should create pathways for young women to earn incomes, become financially independent, and make informed decisions about their lives and futures. She encouraged the participants to treat the skills acquired as a business opportunity, develop their creativity, identify markets, and support one another to grow.

At the closing and certificate presentation, she congratulated the participants and challenged them to turn their certificates into action, their skills into businesses, and their businesses into sustainable livelihoods.

The initiative contributes to women’s economic empowerment by providing practical, marketable skills that can reduce economic dependency and vulnerability to exploitation and gender-based violence.

SWIDA Ghana appreciates Fauzy Events and Partners for the collaboration and congratulates all the young women for completing the training. May this be the beginning of successful entrepreneurial journeys!
